Abstract
The Orman family have been well-known donors of historical items to the Colorado State University of Pueblo Archives and Special Collections over the years. Most notably the Orman Collection of Native American Artifacts, 600-1930 which houses two hundred various artifacts. They include Navajo rugs, Pueblo pottery, and a group of Jicarilla and Western Apache baskets. The Orman family also assembled a collection of diaries and scrapbooks filled with a variety of photographs and documents. Some of these documents date to the 1800s. The diaries can be dated back to the year 1916. These line-of-day diaries documented not only family matters, but social and political issues of the time. The Orman Family Papers had been accumulating for generations. They include information on the activities of various family members and individuals ranging from former Colorado Governor James B. Orman to Ella Matty Orman. The papers even include activities of former Colorado Governor Alva Adams.
