Name: Edna Chavez Vargas (1934-2021)
Historical Note: Edna grew up in the Pueblo community of Salt Creek. During World War II, she left high school to help supoort the family. She later got her GED and and went onto take college courses in computer science. She raised four children. She worked at the First National Bank of Pueblo and later retired from there. She also worked at Evraz (formerly Colorado Fuel and Iron) and retired form there, as well. She was active in the Pueblo Cameo Club. She was aslo active in the Genealogy Society of Hispanic America. She would later participate in the Latino History Project which highlighted the Mexican/American culture and history of the Salt Creek community.
