Scope and Contents of the Materials
The collection contains materials relating to the Penitentes, a lay brotherhood known for its penitential rituals. Includes cuadernos, prayerbooks, journals amd account books of moradas, photographs, artifacts, sound recordings and films, and publications, 1894-2006 and no date.

- Item 1: Wood cross made from tree branches; barbed wire ‘crown of thorns’ through cross section; face, torso and arm of Jesus carved at the base; dark red paint to simulate blood on Jesus’ hand and where barbed wire is inserted into wood, 18.5 x 12 x 4.5
