July 9, 1976 Judge denies motion in Gurule-Quiroz case: District Judge Donald E. Abram denied motions to quash grand jury subpoenas issued to Albert Gurule and Roberto Quiroz, both administrators of Spanish Peaks Mental Health Center.
July 9, 1976 Grand jury proceedings sputter over motions to quash 2 subpoenas by Don Nicoson: The motions to quash the 2 subpoenas were to be argued at 7pm. The hearing was scratched fue to lack of a court reporter.
July 22, 1976 Press Conference notice by Roberto Quiroz: this statement was issused at a press conference regarding the investigation of the employment of Al Gurule with the SPMNC.
July 23, 1976 Quiros, Gurule vow to take 5th by Barabara Kochevar: Both Quiros and Gurule vowed in a press conference to take the 5th amendement during questioning (2 copies).
August 19, 1976 Spanish Peaks center given $399,687 grant: This federal grant has been awarded to the Spanish Peak Center for staffing purposes.
August 19, 1976 Spanish Peaks board mulls over grand jury inquiry by Hugh Cox: The current grand jury investigation of a possible misappropriation of SPMHC funds was reviewed by the center's board of directors.
May 4, 1977 Jury chides Peaks' favors to Gurule by Margie Wood: The 1976 Pueblo County Grand Jury report criticized the administration of SPMHC, but also pointed out positive changes as a result of the grand jury investigation (2 copies, one from the star journal under the title "Heath center is rapped for favors to Gurule", other is the Pueblo Chieftan.
May 19, 1977 Director of Spanish Peaks Center responds to grand jury allegations by Hugh Cox: Roberto Quiroz, executive director SPMHC to the report of 1976 Pueblo County Grand Jury investigation.
June 4, 1977 Spanish Peaks employes resign cite problems with administration by Hugh Cox: Three members of SPMNC have resigned because of disagreements with the agency's administration.
August 23, 1978 Quiroz fires Duran from post at Peaks by Tom McAvoy: City Councilman Isaac Duran has been fired from his fulltime duties as director of SPMHC's rural child mental health program. Duran has appealed the dismissal.
