April 4, 1973 Former Losavio staffer indicted by Len Gregory: Losavio former secretary Carole ann Evesole is charged with felony theft and fraudulent acts for allegedly failing to report an increase in income.

April 13, 1973 Trujillo is ordered to stand trial after defense move fails: Trujillo, chief county probation officer was ordered to staand trial on three grand jury indictments. Trujillo was indicted March 23 for allegedly falsifying college and job applications.

April 27, 1973 Three Deomocratic officals blast Losavio, grand jury by Len Gregory: County comissioner Al H. Hayden Jr, City civil service commisioner Alex Clark Jr, and County Zoning Administrator Matt J. Kochevar condemned Losavio.

May 1, 1973 State court order 'springs' Losavio: Losavio was release from County Jail 5 hours after being charged with contempt of court citation. Judge Kikel  jailed Losavio for 15 days for allegedly muttering a contemptous remark.

May 3, 1773 Trujilo charges Losavio with antagonism, animosity by Len Gregory: Motion towards Larry E. Trujillo were filled by Losavio, claiming " personal antagonism, animosity, hostility and enmity".

June 18, 1973 Losavio appeals Trujillo acquittal: Losavio has filed notice of appeal of the acquittal of Trujillo, who was exonerated by Dist. Judge William Calvert of Colorado Springs on June 5thl

June 28, 1973 Losavio appointed to area drug unit: Losavio has been appointed to serve on the executive board of Southern Colorado's drug fighting Metropolitan Enforcement Group 3 (MEG3).

July 2, 1973 Penalty lifted for Losavio: Judge Matt J. Kikel said the no penalty for Losavio but the case could be re-tried at a later date.

July 20, 1973 Keefe and Losavio exhange charges: David Keefe, owner of Dave Keefe Volkswagen Inc makes rude comments towards Losavio as Losavio still has no paid Keefe for car work. David Keefe and his sale manager were indicted on three charges of theft and a single charge of conspiring to commit theft.

July 21, 1973 Losavio refutes credit charges: Losavio countered the allegations made by Keefe by saying he was unhappy with Keefe's firm's repairs, thus the delay in bill payment.

August 31, 1973 Losavio faces court hearing in 2-year-old contempt case: Losavio and Alamosa County District. Atty J O Lewis, both public defenders at the time were finded $250 by Dist. Judge Richard E. Conour.

September 29, 1973 Losavio hurls new saalvos at Kikel by Len Gregory: Losavio want Kikel to disqualify himself from his trial. Losavio says the Kikel is prejudice towards his entire district attorney staff.

October 6, 1973 Losavio pledges probe of welfare department: A grand jury investigation of the welfare agency has begun because Losavio said he has recieved new information of alleged improprieties in the administrtion of the Pueblo County Department of Social Services.

December 27, 1973 Losavio appeal dismissed by Star Journal Chieftan, Denver Bureau: The Colorado Supreme Court dismissed an interlocutory appeal by Losavio, objecting to the suppression of evidence in a narcotics case.

April 25, 1974 Hill, Losavio butt heads on welfare probe by Len Gregory: Losavio and County comissioner John E. Hill are accusing each other of squandering the taxpayer's dollars.

Feburary 7, 1975 Losavio denies politcal motivation: Losavio denies that he is acting out of politcal motivation in a current grand jury probe into buying practices of the county highway department.

March 17, 1975 Losavio scolded by high court by the Star Journal, Chieftain Denver Bureau: Losavio was reprimanded by Colorado Supreme Court for "wasting time and effort" in appealing cases with little or no legal merit.

October 23, 1975 Losavio again denies favoring kin in case by Len Gregory: Losavio denies that he gave preferential treatment to a distant relative name William R Treece. He was accused of joyriding, chiminal mischief and conspiracy.

Feburary 2, 1976 Losavio's office is scored for costs of 'exploration" by Margie Wood: County manager Jack Craddock blasted Losavio's expenditures for investigation of county officials. Losavio responded by accusing the county officials of banding together to protect their own misdeeds.

Feburary 19, 1976 District attorneys want judges to have sentencing authority by Don Donato: The Colorado District Attorneys Association is sponsoring legislation to return to the state criminal system the policy of fixed of "flat sentencing in place of the current procedure of inderminiate sentencing".

March 5, 1976 Prosecution system proposal would be a mistake: Losavio has issues with Atty. Gen J.D MacFarlane reported proposal to revamp the Colorado system of criminal prosecution.

July 23, 1976 Foreman says jury wrote report independently by John A. Salas: The 1975 Pueblo County grand jury foreman said that Dist. Atty Losavio "had nothing whatsoever to do with the jury's final report".

June 25, 1976 Losavio recall movement launched by Barbara Kochevar: An oganization meeting to form a community coalition against grand jury abuse resulted in the formation of a committee to research  the procedure needed to recall Dist. Atty Losavio.

September 4, 1976 Petitions filed for recall of Pueblo DA by Richard J. Schneider: A petition to recalled Losavio for his abuse of power was signed by 7,200 people. (Continued from page 6)

September 4, 1976 Losavio recall petitiions given to state secretary by Margie Wood: The recall petitions were presented to the secretary of state's office in Denver.

September 17, 1976 Losabio, Gurule trade jabs in recall "war of words" by Don Prather: Losavio running unopposed for renomination collected 6,987 votes. Gurules comments that the count is inordinately low, fewer than half of the total 14, 299 votes casted. Reflecting mass public disenchantment with Losavio's performance in office.

September 19, 1976 Losavio denies wrongdoing by grand jury: Losavio denies any wrongdoing regarding the grand jury report on operations of the University of Southern Colorado.

September 19, 1976 USC grand jury report tagged illegal by Hugh Cox: The grand jury report on the operations of University of Southern Colorado was released illegally by Losavio.

November 3, 1976 Anti- Losavio drive felt; sheriff's LEA a loser by Hugh Cox: Losavio recieved more votes on Nov 2nd than when he ran in 1972 without opposition.

Janurary 12, 1977 Pueblo Bar endorses grand jury reform bill by Margie Wood: New reform bill states that a witness would recieve at least seven days' notice of a subpoena and would have extended  opportunities to challege a subpoena.

May 4, 1977 Springs lawyes will direct probe by Margie Wood: Dist. Judge Richard Robb appointed Elvin L. Gentry, a Colorado Springs attorney, to act as special prosecutor investigating alleged budgetary irregularities in the Pueblo County government.

June 3, 1977 Citing 'violnce to language' judge orders 2 Bowes charges dismissed by Margie Wood: Two of the five charges against USC president Harry P. Bowes were dismisssed. Losavio said the ruling has not been research to determine whether an appeal will be filed.

July 13, 1977 Losavio labels petition as political by Margie Wood: Losabio filed a motion to dismiss Att. Gen J.D MacFarlane's petition to release a secret agreement between Losavio and McCullock Properties Inc.

August 4, 1977 MacFarlane wins right to view McCulloch agreement by Don Prather: Full contents of a secret agreement between Losavio and McCulloch Properites Inc were ordered to be released to Colorado Atty. Gen J.D MacFarlane.

August 6, 1977 Losavio responds; Gradishar mum by Ron Martinez: Losavio produced snap shots of some Puebo County Shop employes and nonemployes as evidence that they wer shootind dice and drinking beer, allegedly.

August 8, 1977 Gradishar continues flap about honor and Losavio by Margie Wood: County Comissioner William Gradishar defended his road and bridge employes and accused Losavio of "chiseling" in several ways.

September 10, 1977 Special grand jury is empaneled to probe county budget spending by Margie Wood: A special grand jury has empaneled to investigate allegations of budgetary improprieties in the county government and will begin full time work by October 3.

September 15, 1977 Losavio bungles USC investigation: Ineptitude, inefficiency and occasionally vindictinveness have marked Losavio's investigation of USC since its begining two years ago.

October 20, 1977 Five Pueblo Co. officials indicted by Margie Wood: Losavio, Sheriff Dan Tihonoich and three of pueblo county commissioners were indicted by a special grand jury  investigating county finances. 2 copies of this article.

October 20, 1977 Special prosecutor defends move to seize Wiliams' U-Haul trailer by Margie Wood: Special Prosecutor Elvin Gentry was in District Court defening a search warrant obtained by his investigators to seize a trailer from County Commissioners Charles William.

November 1, 1977 Commissioners refuse fund for Losavio probe of Colorado City: Pueblo county commissioners vote 2-1 against funding an investiagion by Losavio in the development practices at Colorado City.

November 9, 1977 Losavio investigator accused of trumping up criminal evidence by Ron Martinez: Investigator John T. Miller of the Pueblo County District Attorney's Office was arrested for allegedly fabricating evidence against a criminal suspect.

November 14, 1977 Special prosecutor sought: County comissioners voted 2-1 to request a special prosecutor to investigate allegations that a dist. atty's investigator plotted to plant heroin on Al Gurule.

November 17, 1977 State grand jury to probe alleged plant by Bill Gagnon: The alleged conspiracy to frame a Pueblo activist Al Gurule with heroin will be presented to a statewide grand jury. There are 2 copies of this articles.

December 6, 1977 Anti-Losavio petitions are readied by Margie Wood: Recall petitions bearling 7,500 names were to be presented to the Colorado secretary of state, seeking the removal of Losavio.

March 6, 1996 Shafer claims harassment as tool: USC paper by Margie Wood: Investigator Donald Shafer addressed a USC class on news writing and made remarks on a current investigation. Losavio makes a statement on Shafer while adding he wants to listen to the remarks before a final judgment.
