Abstract
The Orman family have been well-known donors of historical items to the Colorado State University of Pueblo Archives and Special Collections over the years. Most notably the Orman Collection of Native American Artifacts, 600-1930 which houses two hundred various artifacts. They include Navajo rugs, Pueblo pottery, and a group of Jicarilla and Western Apache baskets. The Orman family also assembled a collection of diaries and scrapbooks filled with a variety of photographs and documents. Some of these documents date to the 1800s. The diaries can be dated back to the year 1916. These line-of-day diaries documented not only family matters, but social and political issues of the time. The Orman Family Papers had been accumulating for generations. They include information on the activities of various family members and individuals ranging from former Colorado Governor James B. Orman to Ella Matty Orman. The papers even include activities of former Colorado Governor Alva Adams.
Scope and Contents of the Materials
The collection consists of family scrapbooks, diaries, photographs and rare books. It also includes various government publications. These records extensively document various family matters and travels as well as social and political issues of the time. This collection ranges in dates from 1818-1985.

- The Orman family had documented their lives through out the generations with Line-A-Day Books by Ella Matty Orman for 53 years between 1916 through 1968. The diaries are numbered Orman 95 through Orman 123. They don't only includes personal day to day life and activitives, but accounts of the social and political environment during those times.
