Scope and Contents of the Materials
The collection consists of biographical materials, newspaper clippings and congratulatory letters to Anna Maud Garnett relating to her receipt of the Colorado Woman of Achievement award in 1969.
Collection Historical Note
Anna Maud Garnett began her career as a teacher in the Pueblo public schools, and in 1965 became director of secondary education for the entire school system. She was president of the Colorado Education Association in 1949 and a member of the board of the National Education Association. She also served as co-chair of a sub-committee at the White House Conference on Aging, president of the Pueblo chapter of AAUW, and member of the advisory committee of Southern Colorado State College. In 1969, she recieved the Colorado Woman of Achievement award.
